A TRIBUTE TO VICTIMS OF TERRORIST ATTACKS

If you switch on the news (Wait, do people even own tvs nowadays? Where do you get your news updates? News24 app? CNN website? The Daily Show with Trevor Noah?) chances are you'll come across the words terrorism or terrorist.  Most recently the Manchester bombing (The suicide bombing in Manchester, England after an Ariana Grande concert on 22 May 2017. During her One Love Manchester concert on Sunday she raised $13 million for victims of the attacked and she slayed her performance of Over The Rainbow like a boss.) and the London attack (The terrorist attack that happened on 3 June 2017 where 3 men drove a van into pedestrians and stabbed Londoners in the Borough Market area) have made headlines.

While doing research to find out what to write for today’s post I came across some heartbreaking articles about recent terrorist attacks.

I know this isn't what you're used to reading but I felt it's what I needed to write. The theme and journey for this month is The Fight Against Terrorism and most of the posts for this month will be centered around this theme.

Today's post is just a moment of silence.

Let's go back to basics (No gifs today *sigh*) and take a moment of silence to remember those that came before us (and will come after us - hell, we could even be one of them!) who were affected by this horrendous crime.

Here are just some of the deadliest terrorist attacks in 2017. My heart is with all the victims and the many that I didn't mention.

How many more people are going to die? How many more innocent lives will be taken for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

My heart is with Syria. My heart is with Afghanistan. My heart is with Somalia. My heart is with Iraq. My heart is with every single victim of terrorist attacks in our broken world.
